For a home in Amersfoort, we have fully prepared two dormers for a sustainable future. The existing roofing was due for replacement, after which both dormers were overlaid with new bitumen roofing. Subsequently, the roof edges were neatly finished with high-quality zinc flashings, and the solar panels were carefully reinstalled. In this way, not only has the watertightness of the dormers been improved, but the yield of the existing solar panels is also preserved.
The photos clearly show how the work was carried out step by step. First, the solar panels were temporarily removed so that the entire roof structure was accessible. Next, the roof surfaces were provided with a new bitumen top layer, and all connections around the upstands and roof edges were precisely finished. After the completion of the roofing work, the solar panels were reinstalled.
New bitumen roofing as a sustainable foundation
Good roofing forms the basis for a long lifespan of a dormer. By overlaying the existing roofing with a new bitumen finish, the watertightness of both dormers has been significantly improved. The photos show that the seams have been finished neatly and that the complete roof surfaces once again form a single, closed unit.
During the work, extra attention was paid to the connections with the pitched tiled roof and the roof upstands. It is precisely these details that largely determine the reliability of a flat roof. By executing these carefully, a durable solution is created that can withstand a wide range of weather conditions.
Sleek finish with zinc roof edges and recessed solar panels
After the roof covering was renewed, the dormers were finished with high-quality zinc roof edges. These not only ensure a neat appearance but also protect the roof structure against moisture and weather influences. The photos clearly show that the finish connects seamlessly to both the roof covering and the existing structure.
Upon completion of the roofing work, the solar panels were re-mounted and carefully aligned. As a result, the dormers continue to function optimally as a sustainable energy source, while the renewed roof structure provides protection against rain, wind, and temperature fluctuations for years to come.
With this work, the two dormer windows in Amersfoort once again feature a reliable, watertight roof finish with a neat appearance. Thanks to the combination of new bitumen roofing, durable zinc edges, and the professional reinstallation of the solar panels, the roof is ready for years of trouble-free use.
